Ask whether your plan covers telehealth nutrition counseling. The billing code for telehealth is 98968.

Ask how many visits your plan covers under Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) or nutrition counseling. Some plans differentiate between visits for a medical diagnosis and those for preventative care, so it’s a good idea to ask about both.

Ongoing Care

Telehealth 45- or 30-minute call

The follow up appointments are when the real work gets done as we assess progress, troubleshoot challenges, and refine your plan.

  • Depending on what is needed a 45-minute, or 30-minute session is recommended.

  • Individuals can be seen weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or even less often depending on your needs and preferences.

  • I love plants! All plants, but herbs especially. The dandelion is a great representation of how I believe many people treat most herbs. Dandelions are often seen as weeds, but they deserve appreciation for their numerous benefits. This vibrant plant enhances gardens and health. Their nutritious leaves, rich in vitamins A, C, K, calcium, and iron, can be used in salads or cooked dishes, adding a unique bitter flavor. This bitterness can stimulate appetite and aid digestion. It can promote liver health and support the detoxification process. Also, the yellow flowers can be made into wine or infused in oils for skin remedies, while roasted roots serve as a caffeine-free coffee.

This love for plants along with my dedication to nutrition and the pursuit of wellness became DandeWell.

  • At this time DandeWell will be considered an “out of network” provider to insurance companies.

You are welcome to contact your insurance to ask about coverage for nutrition services. If it is covered then a Superbill can be provided to you to file with your insurance for reimbursement.

Contacting your provider before your session is encouraged if this is a concern.

    • 90-minute Initial Session - $150

    • 45-minute Follow Up Session - $75

    • 30-minute Follow Up Session - $50

  • My approach is as unique and individualized as you are and depends on your specific goals, medical history, background, and timeline. Individuals can be seen weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or even less often depending on your needs and preferences. I believe nutrition is a journey and as your dietitian provider, I will be with you throughout the process to provide support and guidance along the way.

  • I value and respect your time as a client. I ask you to do the same in return. A 48-hour notice is required to cancel/reschedule an appointment, even for emergencies. Failure to cancel within 48 hours will require 25% of the appointment fee which will be charged to your card on file.

    • Exceptions to the cancellation fee may be made for documented emergencies or extenuating circumstances, subject to review and approval by me. Failure to provide notice of cancellation and failure to attend the appointment without prior notification may result in forfeiture of any prepaid fees or deposits.

This policy aims to ensure that appointments are respected, and any cancellations are made with adequate notice, thereby minimizing disruptions to the schedule and allowing for the possibility of accommodating other clients.

    • Sessions can be rescheduled at any time before 48 hours if needed.

  • The terms “dietitian” and “nutritionist” are often used interchangeably; however the two credentials are not actually equal. A Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) is a food and nutrition expert who must obtain a relevant bachelor’s degree, complete a supervised practice program, and pass a national licensure examination in order to earn their credentials. In my case, I completed my bachelor’s and master’s degree.

A nutritionist, on the other hand, is not required to meet these same requirements in order to use the title. In fact, in many states “Nutritionist” is an unregulated term meaning that anybody, regardless of educational background, can call themselves a nutritionist. This is why it is important to find a Registered Dietitian when seeking nutritional care.

  • As defined by IFNA - Integrative and functional nutrition utilizes a systems-based approach to evaluate the many interacting factors that promote health or disease. It seeks to understand the root causes of system(s) imbalances that influence one’s biology, genetics, nutritional status and well-being. Integrative and functional nutrition uses a holistic, multi-dimensional evidence and practice-based approach to the nutrition care process. A comprehensive nutrition assessment helps the practitioner design a personalized treatment plan, tailored to the patient’s unique needs and lifestyle to support the highest expression of health and healing. This integrated approach can dramatically improve patient outcomes and quality of life.

  • I provide virtual services for Texas resident, allowing you to meet with me from the comfort of your own home. I offer HIPAA-compliant telehealth services to clients to protect privacy.
